3 Christs

Off-Broadway at Judson Memorial Church

In this Psychological thriller based on a true story and the book The Three Christs of Ypsilanti, we find three schizophrenic patients who all think they are Christ.  This is a psychological study by Dr. Milton, a visiting psychologist, who intentionally seeks out 3 psych patients with the same delusion.  He puts them together in a living
environment with expectations of a cure through various unorthodox treatment methods.  While all have the same
diagnosis, you will find remarkable differences in each.   The haunting music piped in gives off a spooky vibe befitting of a mental institution and adds to the drama, as do the three windows in the set that project zoom views of skin, hair, and facial features.  You will find total believable characters in the acting of Donald Warfield, as Clyde, Arthur Aulisi as Joseph and Daryl Lanthon as Leon which is no easy task given the subject matter.

After two plus years the study concludes.  Do we get three sons of man in the end?  I won’t spoil the secret, and
rather you see this for yourself. This is a limited run through September 28th only.  Get the schedule and your tickets here.

Another good reason to check out this production is that as a bonus you will get to spend some time in an historical piece of New York City, the newly restored Judson Memorial Church.    Your dollars will also go towards further
restoration.  The church has exquisite stained glass windows, along with many other fine details and is a very unique and interesting setting for such a production.   -thisbroadSway 9/7/14
