Jewish Chronicles

Off-Off-Broadway-at the Soho Playhouse

I got a chance to see this delightful show over the weekend.  I’m not sure how to describe it.  It is not a play, and it’s not quite a musical.  There is music but no dancing.  I will affectionately call it a Jewsical.  The extremely talented Daniel Cainer has written and performs all these Jewish-inspired songs in this one-man show.  These songs chronicle stories of his family life, and it’s funny and heartwarming.   There is some use of video that includes family photos and it adds nicely to the charm.
This is a cozy intimate setting.  You can even get a cocktail and sit at a little table while enjoying the show.  I highly recommend seeing it, whether you are a Jew or just a Goy-al like me.  This show runs 80 minutes with no intermission. Get your tickets before it closes on November 16th.
